Desert Bloom Pool Care is a family-owned pool service company based in Queen Creek, Arizona, co-founded by John Olson and Brad in 2018. We serve homeowners across nine East Valley cities with weekly pool cleaning, equipment repair, tile cleaning, acid washing, filter maintenance, new pool orientation, and equipment replacement. Everything we do is built on a simple idea: treat every pool like it is our own.
Our Story
John Olson and Brad started Desert Bloom Pool Care in 2018 with one truck, a set of test kits, and the belief that pool service in the East Valley could be done better. Before starting the company, they saw how the industry worked from the inside and recognized the same problems that frustrated pool owners everywhere: inconsistent technicians, poor communication, surprise charges, and companies that locked customers into contracts they could not escape.
They built Desert Bloom to be the opposite of all that. From the very first customer, the approach was simple. Show up on the scheduled day. Send the same technician every week. Communicate after every visit. Quote honestly and stick to the price. Do not upsell services people do not need.
That first year was all word of mouth. One satisfied customer told a neighbor, who told a friend, who told their HOA. No advertising, no door-knocking, no gimmicks. By the end of 2019, Desert Bloom had grown from one truck to a multi-technician operation covering Gilbert, Chandler, and the surrounding East Valley.

How We Train Our Technicians
Every Desert Bloom technician goes through a thorough training program before they service a pool on their own. Training covers water chemistry certification, including how to test and balance free chlorine, total chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, and cyanuric acid. Our techs learn equipment diagnostics for all major brands including Pentair, Hayward, and Jandy. They learn how to identify early signs of pump failure, filter fatigue, heater problems, and salt cell degradation.
Beyond technical skills, we train on customer service standards. Every tech knows how to communicate clearly, how to document their work in service reports, and how to handle situations where they discover a problem mid-visit. We do not surprise homeowners with unexpected charges. If a tech finds something that needs attention, they contact you with options and pricing before doing any additional work.
Safety training is part of every tech's onboarding. Pool chemicals are serious, and our team handles them with proper protocols. We store, transport, and apply chemicals according to manufacturer guidelines and EPA standards. Every chemical we use is safe for swimming once the pool is properly balanced and circulated.
